Pokemon Uranium Elite Four Guide: Conquer the Tandor Championship Endgame
There is no traditional Pokemon Uranium elite four — here is how the Tandor Championship works, who you battle, what to buy, and how to win the endgame.
No Traditional Pokemon Uranium Elite Four: Meet the Tandor Championship
If you have been searching for a Pokemon Uranium elite four guide, here is the twist nobody tells you up front: Tandor does not have an Elite Four. Instead of four fixed trainers and a Champion, the fan-made RPG ends its main story with the Tandor Championship — a 32-trainer single-elimination tournament that plays out as five consecutive battles from your point of view.
That single design choice changes everything about how you should prepare. A Pokemon Uranium elite four strategy built around one fixed lineup of opponents will not help you, because most of your bracket is randomized every run. What you actually need is a flexible team, a clear read on the rules, and a plan for the story beats that interrupt the tournament.
This guide covers the Championship Site, the bracket structure, every opponent and payout, the shop stock, the first-run story gauntlet with Actan and CURIE, and the community-tested tricks that make the final stretch far less punishing. For version details and downloads, you can also check the official Pokemon Uranium website.
Championship Bracket and Rules: What Five Battles Look Like
The Championship Site sits atop the mountain past Victory Road in West Tandor. Before you step into the bracket, you get a healing station and two shop counters — your last chance to reorganize your team and stock up.
Inside the tournament, the rules tighten up fast. Consumable items are completely locked out of Championship battles; only held items function. That means no mid-fight Potions, no Revives, no Full Restores. Every advantage has to be baked into your team before the battle starts.
| Feature | How it works |
|---|---|
| Format | 32-trainer single-elimination bracket (5 battles from your perspective) |
| Item rule | Only held items work; no bags or consumables during battles |
| Recovery | Your party is fully healed after every battle |
| Team edits | Minor adjustments allowed between rounds |
| Randomization | Opponents and most of their Pokemon's abilities change each run |
| Fixed battles | The first two rounds are always Goldkorn and Angelica (order varies) |
The opening pair never changes in identity, only in order: you will face Sr. Goldkorn and Angelica, the Fairy-type specialist, in rounds one and two. After that first battle, you fight characters you saw waiting in the lobby, and the closing rounds draw from the seven eligible Gym Leaders plus Hokage.
Note the word "eligible." Of the eight Gym Leaders you defeated on your journey, Hinata and Kaito are excluded from the tournament field. Everyone else — Maria, Davern, Cali, Sheldon, Tiko, Rosalind, and Vaeryn — can appear in your bracket.
Because abilities on opponent Pokemon are randomized, a rematch against a Gym Leader you crushed earlier can suddenly play out very differently. Community reports consistently flag this as the number one reason unprepared teams lose in round four.
Opponents, Rewards, and Shop Stock
Who you can face
| Trainer | Role | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Sr. Goldkorn | Championship trainer (rounds 1–2) | 5,250 |
| Angelica | Fairy specialist (rounds 1–2) | 5,600 |
| Maria | Gym Leader | 7,000 |
| Davern | Gym Leader | 7,000 |
| Cali | Gym Leader | 7,000 |
| Sheldon | Gym Leader | 7,000 |
| Tiko | Gym Leader | 7,000 |
| Rosalind | Gym Leader | 7,700 |
| Vaeryn | Gym Leader | 7,700 |
| Hokage | Ninja boss | 6,300 |
| Theo | Rival (second run final) | 7,200 |
| CURIE | Terorizer of Tandor (first run) | 11,900 |
The payouts are generous, but money is not the real prize. The real prize is the championship title, and on your first playthrough, that title arrives through a scripted sequence rather than a clean bracket.
What to buy before you enter
Two cashiers stock the Championship Site. One handles healing and utility items, the other handles balls.
| Healing / utility item | Price |
|---|---|
| Potion | 300 |
| Super Potion | 700 |
| Hyper Potion | 1,200 |
| Max Potion | 2,500 |
| Full Restore | 3,000 |
| Revive | 1,500 |
| Full Heal | 600 |
| Max Repel | 700 |
| Escape Rope | 550 |
| Ball | Price |
|---|---|
| Poke Ball | 200 |
| Great Ball | 600 |
| Ultra Ball | 1,200 |
| Heal Ball | 300 |
| Nest Ball | 1,000 |
| Dusk Ball | 1,000 |
| Quick Ball | 1,000 |
| Timer Ball | 1,000 |
| Repeat Ball | 1,000 |
| Net Ball | 1,000 |
| Luxury Ball | 1,000 |
Here is the catch worth repeating: because consumables are disabled inside Championship battles, this shop is preparation for the road in and out, not an in-tournament crutch. Buy your Full Restores and Max Repels for travel, then make sure your held items are actually assigned before round one.
The First Playthrough Gauntlet: Actan, CURIE, and Urayne
On your first run, the final match is supposed to be against your rival, Theo. It never happens. A Nuclear Actan crashes the fight, and the tournament turns into a story sequence.
| Stage | Opponent | Key details |
|---|---|---|
| Intended final match | Theo | Interrupted before it resolves |
| Boss battle | Nuclear Actan | Theo hands you a Focus Sash and a Max Potion beforehand |
| Final encounter | CURIE | 11,900 reward; the last fight against her |
| Post-story | Urayne | Offers to join in Alpha form at level 50 |
After you defeat the Nuclear Actan, it offers to join your party temporarily. It arrives with Crunch instead of Nuclear Slash and still carries Inferno even though it cannot normally learn the move. As of the 1.0.1 patch, the Nuclear Actan can be caught, but it is not saved to your PC — a detail that has confused a lot of players.
The party-slot warning. Community reports describe a nasty edge case: if your party and PC boxes are both full when Actan is prompted to join, the Pokemon whose slot is taken vanishes with nowhere to go. Worse, because Actan occupies a party slot during the following conversation with Urayne, Urayne will not be added to your team and will disappear as well. Free up space before the Championship finale.
After CURIE falls, Theo forfeits, and you claim the championship title. Urayne then offers to join you in its Alpha form.
Shiny and stat hunting Urayne. Player experience suggests this method:
- Turn Autosave on and set it to 5 minutes before battling Gamma Urayne.
- Let the flashback conversation play, then wait about 5 minutes before continuing.
- When the story returns to the present, an Autosave triggers.
- Close the game, relaunch it, disable Autosave, and load that save.
- Urayne will display its shiny sprite on the nicknaming screen, so you do not have to sit through the credits to find out.
If you want to check Urayne's IVs and Nature quickly, enter the Championship with only five Pokemon and decline Actan. Urayne then lands on your party screen immediately after the credits.
Second Run and Advanced Community Tricks
Come back for a second Championship and the tournament finally gives you the clean rival match you were denied. Theo is waiting in the final round, and his lineup changes depending on which starter you chose at the beginning of the game.
| Your starter | Theo's final-round team | Legacy version note |
|---|---|---|
| Orchynx | A lineup built around your choice | — |
| Raptorch | A different variant of the same rival team | Before 1.0.3, Miasmedic could have Healer instead of Poison Touch |
| Eletux | A third variant | Before 1.2.5, Vilucard held no item |
A few community-discovered quirks are worth knowing before you grind this fight:
- Free rare items. Having Tracton or Raffiti use Thief, then Fling, then Recycle lets you steal items you otherwise cannot obtain — Assault Vest, Black Sludge, Dragon Fang, and Mystery Gift-only items like Twisted Spoon and Spell Tag.
- Theo cheats, again. His Archilles runs Solar Beam, a move it cannot legally learn. Do not assume his moveset follows normal rules.
- Old Nuclear Balls. Before patch 1.2.6, Theo handed out five Nuclear Balls with dialogue implying Actan could be caught.
- A musical oddity. Vaeryn is the only Gym Leader whose final Pokemon is accompanied by the normal last-Pokemon OST.
If you want to make the second run easier, treat the bracket as a held-item puzzle rather than a level check. Leftovers, type-resistance berries, and Choice items do far more work here than raw levels, because you cannot heal mid-battle.
FAQ About the Pokemon Uranium Elite Four
Does Pokemon Uranium have an Elite Four? No. The Pokemon Uranium elite four concept is replaced by the Tandor Championship, a 32-trainer elimination tournament that you experience as five back-to-back battles. There are no fixed four trainers and no separate Champion battle in the traditional sense.
How many battles do you fight in the Championship? Five, from your perspective. The bracket technically holds 32 trainers, but the game only shows you the rounds you participate in. The first two are always Goldkorn and Angelica in a random order, and the closing rounds pull from the seven eligible Gym Leaders plus Hokage.
Can you use Potions during Championship battles? No. Only held items function during the tournament. Your party is fully healed between rounds, and you can make small team adjustments, but you cannot open your bag mid-battle.
Can you catch the Nuclear Actan? It cannot be caught in the original encounter. As of patch 1.0.1, it can be caught, but it is not saved to your PC. It also offers to join temporarily after the fight — and if your party and boxes are full, you risk losing both the displaced Pokemon and Urayne later.
How do you get Urayne? After you defeat CURIE for the final time, Theo forfeits and you take the championship. Urayne then offers to join your team in its Alpha form at level 50. Keep at least one party slot free so the sequence resolves cleanly.
